Top Chef’s Bubbles + Pearls Announces A Unique First Ever Collaboration of Fun Dining And “Let’s Get Cooking” Art Gallery In The Heart Of LGBTQ Wilton Manors
“What restaurants will need to survive Covid-19 is ‘out of the box’ thinking combined with collaborations with other small businesses to increase their chance of success for 2021. That is what television reality star and recent candidate for Wilton Manor City Mayor, Chef Josie said in the recent press event for a new art exhibit that will have its world premiere in January. The Bravo TV’s Top Chef star operates the popular Bubbles + Pearls Restaurant at 2037 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors. The monthly exhibit is the brainchild of Josie's wife and restaurant partner Marcy Miller. The “Let’s Get Cooking” Gallery will feature a wide variety of art of different styles for a monthly exhibit that will feature rotation of a new artist each month.
“It’s so appropriate that New Year's Day will be the transition date for this exciting new opportunity” said the first artist in residence, renowned LGBTQ artist David Rule. He added, “to draw attention to restaurant small business in the most difficult year of our lifetime by having another small business participate and work together is really inspirational.” Artists, like every other small business segment, have experienced dramatic difficulty in 2020 because of Coronavirus and the election.
This commitment allows you to visit one small business for dinner and enjoy the feeling of being in an art gallery during the dining experience. The January month long event is the world premiere of creatD.Rule exhibition ‘ABSTRACT: Masculinity… abstracts & nudes’. The important works of famed LGBTQ artist David Rule will present images that will tease the imagination in both abstracts and more. “I am very proud to be the first to attempt a collaboration like this. Food and the dining experience should be ‘art’. So it was natural to present an art exhibit during the dining experience,” said Chef Josie.
To enhance the experience there will be a world premiere at Bubbles + Pearls on Saturday, January 9 from 5 pm to 9 pm that will include special surprises including a complimentary commemorative high gloss poster celebrating the special exhibit. “I have actually created four posters in a series that will be distributed free to guests when they come to Bubbles + Pearls. They are rolled with and presented in a red ribbon,” said the artist David Rule. A new poster will be released each week throughout the month of January. “It will be a wonderful opportunity to frame and celebrate the history of an important new year, and the beginnings of the new world we will celebrate as we move out of the world of both Covid-19 and the historic new President and Vice President that will be inaugurated on January 20. 2021 looks great for all of us and for so many reasons,” said Chef Josie.
Chef Josie seems to believe this “great new year” will be anchored in celebration as Bubbles + Pearls has a new slogan and motto being debuted New Years Day 2021. “I am excited that my commitment is that Bubbles + Pearls will be ‘The Champagne and Oyster Celebration Restaurant, “ according to the Bravo TV star.
